RECIPIENT OF THEORY-TO-PRACTICE GRANT THROUGH OHIO WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY, “CULTURAL IMMERSION IN MCLEOD GANJ: A STUDY IN CULTURAL AND POLITICAL CHANGE,” India, Dec. 2011-Jan. 2012
Independently wrote a grant to travel to McLeod Ganj, India, to study the cultural and political climate in a community of Tibetan refugees. Tutored female students aged 11-17 and travelled to local cultural and historical sites.

TRAVEL LEARNING THROUGH OHIO WESLEYAN, “NATION BUILDING,” Ghana, Spring 2012
Studied Ghanaian history, politics, and culture in preparation for a three week trip to Ghana in May 2012 during which participants visited historical and cultural sites and engaged in service work at local elementary schools.
